Since introducing the matcha latte to the menu, Chantel and Mark, the owners of Raw Espresso in Southport, have been overwhelmed with its popularity. Don’t be put off by its emerald-green hue, the latte tastes like green tea but offers the same sensory satisfaction as coffee. The matcha latte is just one of the interesting new concoctions on offer at the Southport cafe that also includes Bulletproof coffee (espresso with a shot of coconut oil), cold-brew served with carbonated water and a slice of lemon and the slightly terrifying Bucking Bull that combines Red Bull and a double ristretto shot of coffee.

Alongside curious caffeinated beverages, Raw Espresso serves up a hearty selection of raw and healthy fare including a breakfast salad, vitamin-rich dragon fruit bowls and more traditional options including an avocado smash with poached eggs and apple, cider and macadamia dukka.
