Ragdoll Dining brings cocktails, eats and beats to Burleigh’s James Street

Burleigh locals, there’s a tasty new hang in your hood. The doors to Ragdoll Dining in James Street have officially swung open, bringing a new wave of fine food, vibrant cocktails and jazzy beats to the beachside hub. If you like the sound of snacking on gin-cured salmon and sipping fancy bubbles, then Ragdoll will be right up your alley.

The arrival of Ragdoll to the top of Burleigh’s James Street means we bid adieu to the site’s former occupant Finders Keepers. Not only does the space have a new name, a new menu and a new vibe, owners Kieran Jensen and Emerson Brown, who purchased Finders Keepers around two months ago, wasted no time transforming the venue’s interior to create Burleigh’s newest dining space and bar. Kieran, who formerly managed The Fish House, has teamed up with Canberra chef Curtis Brent to curate a sophisticated lunch and dinner menu that is served in an intentionally relaxed and casual setting. By day, Ragdoll is bright and breezy, and by night the space becomes a candlelit hub filled with jazz music, cocktail shaking and delicious aromas from the open kitchen.

Ragdoll is open for lunch and dinner seven days, offering a succinct menu split into dishes from ‘the land’, ‘the sea’ and ‘the garden’. Start off by grazing on oysters, charcuterie plates and cheese boards before choosing from land-based eats like fried chicken ribs with dill pickles, twice-cooked chilli quail with cucumber kimchi and kaffir-lime salt, or 12-hour smoked lamb belly with lentil and pine-nut cassoulet and hummus. Sea-based dishes range from market fish with orange labneh and caper berries to charred king prawns with blackened salsa and chimichurri. Keep things light and colourful with the five-spice crispy tofu salad with sticky black rice and the vibrant roasted pumpkin and kale salad. The Ragdoll menu is underscored by an extensive list of drinkables, with cocktails and wine shining bright.
