White Rhino
Surfers Paradise is about to welcome a new two-storey multi-million-dollar restaurant and bar named White Rhino. The venue is the latest project from Artesian Hospitality Ltd, owners of Surfers Paradise nightclubs Bedroom, Sin City and Havana. The massive restaurant and bar, located in the Circle on Cavill precinct, is currently under construction and is due to open around October. We’re told White Rhino will serve breakfast, lunch, bar snacks and dinner, while also capturing the after-dark revellers with a sophisticated bar offering. Keep your eyes peeled this spring – we’ll have all of the details when White Rhino opens its doors.

Farm & Co
Dreamy Kingscliff farm stall Farm & Co (you know, the place with the gorgeous sunflower farm that is all over Instagram) is opening up its own on-site cafe. Regulars who do their weekly shop at the farm may have noticed a new freestanding building is currently being constructed, which will house the new daytime eatery. Details are still being finalised, though we’re told there will be a sit-down cafe menu as well as takeaway picnic basket options. The food will be based around Farm & Co’s seasonal vegetable crops – this will well and truly be the epitome of ‘paddock to plate’. The new cafe, which is yet to be named, is expected to open in December. We’ll have all of the details when it opens.

Seadog
Coffee purists, a quaint new espresso bar is coming to Burleigh’s James Street. When we say quaint, we mean it – Seadog will be a four-square-metre space, and it’s taking over the former premises of … wait for it … an ATM. Local barista Brodie Green, who used to operate a pop-up coffee bike from The Collective in Palm Beach, is behind the clever coffee concept. Seadog will be more of a stand-up or grab-and-go situation, though there will be three stools at the window for those that want to sit and sip. Another unique element is that the coffee will change regularly, with Brodie sourcing interesting beans from various origins and coffee farms, which is sure to keep the coffee connoisseurs among us very intrigued. Seadog is expected to open by October. We’ll let you know when the brews are pouring.
