Munch on a mighty mac’n’cheese burger and crispy fried chicken at the all-new Pattysmiths Miami

Sorry in advance to everyone who has visions of getting a head-start on those recurring ‘clean eating’ New Year’s resolutions because Melbourne-born burger bar Pattysmiths is continuing to expand its footprint, this time firing up the grills at its fourth Gold Coast location in the beachside suburb of Miami. The new eatery is officially open and here are all the juicy details …

Let’s just get one thing clear right off the bat, Pattysmiths is no slapdash burger joint – in fact, it couldn’t be further from it. Similarly to the way metalsmiths are considered masters of metal, Pattysmiths claims to have perfected the art of hand-crafted burger patties and with 11 locations throughout Melbourne, Australian Capital Territory and Queensland, it seems that plenty of people agree. Its chefs, fondly known as ‘patty smashers’ (excellent title), take their primo patties pretty seriously and work with a signature blend of wagyu and Angus beef to create the famed meaty middles, which are lovingly hand-smashed on a custom-built iron plate to create a distinct golden crust. As you may have deducted, the beef burgers are the real MVP of Pattysmiths’ offering with classic options to suit  traditionalists (the classic cheeseburger with a beef patty, American cheddar, house pickles, ketchup, mustard and blanched onions is an excellent place to start) as well as those who like to push the boundaries of what a burger can be (for you, we suggest the almighty Mac & Cheese Royale – a beef patty and a mac’n’cheese katsu patty with American cheddar, special sauce, ketchup, mustard, lettuce and tomato). Meat-free folk are catered for with a panko-crumbed mushroom burger and a vegan burger using a plant-based patty on a glazed vegan bun.

In addition to Pattysmiths, the Miami eatery will also be home to Alabama Chicken & Wings, which began as a virtual brand operating out of 19 Pattysmiths and Noodle Box restaurants nationally. Diners will now be able to enjoy a taste of America’s deep south with deliciously crispy chicken wings and drumettes smothered in your choice of the venue’s signature rubs and sauces. If you’ve got any room left at all, there’s some seriously saucy thickshakes and a sundae loaded with crushed peanuts and fudge on offer. Yum.
