Sip on specialty brews at Paper Cup Coffee’s brand-new Ferry Road digs
Labrador’s Paper Cup Coffee has been satisfying coffee drinkers on the northern end ever since its doors opened back in 2015. Now, the popular cafe is taking a caffeine-fuelled leap, with a second Paper Cup venue opening on Southport’s Ferry Road this week.
Owners Zoe Scorgie and Glen Hordern are spreading the love slightly south, and whilst they are retaining Paper Cup’s renowned coffee-focused vibe, the new sibling venue will expand into a full breakfast and lunch offering. The full food menu is expected to launch in the coming weeks – until then, you’ll find a delicious spread of savouries and sweets, which you can enjoy on-the-go or in the setting of its fresh new digs. For now, you can choose from the likes of acai bowls to smashed-avo bagels, chorizo paninis and breakfast rolls, before your eye quickly draws to the cabinet of sweet treats. There are Nutella cronuts and doughnuts for those living on the edge, as well as a decent spread of gluten and dairy-free raw slices for those who like to play it safe.
In case the rad painting on the wall of a man kneeling toward a woman with a coffee cup in hand under text ‘True Love’ didn’t give it away, coffee is always king at Paper Cup. When you order, you’ll be offered two completely different brands of coffee – Blackboard Coffee or Melbourne’s Proud Mary blend. Yeah, we love a bit of choice, and totally dig that Paper Cup has expanded its offering of speciality coffee. Just like it’s Labrador venue, Paper Cup opens at 5:00 am – so, if you’re an early morning commuter, then you’d best make Paper Cup your new best mate.
