Oskars on Burleigh unveils new look and new menu

Following a complete revamp to the building’s exterior, Oskars on Burleigh has overhauled its culinary offering and sports a stylish new fit-out and tapas terrace.

Traditionally known for its elaborate seafood creations, Oskars on Burleigh’s new modern Australian dining menu caters to a wider audience and offers weekend breakfast as well as a lighter share plate-style menu for diners who fancy a beverage of the alcoholic variety and a small bite. Perch yourself on a stool overlooking magnificent Burleigh beach and work your way through a selection of housemade kettle chips, Tasmanian oysters and lamb merguez-filled crusty baguette with harissa mayo and minted yoghurt and sip on a devilishly deceiving cocktail that has been concocted to complement the flavours of the food. For more substantial hankerings, take a seat on the main deck or in the dining room and partake in a feast of seared scallops with romesco sauce, grilled baby leeks and shaved green apple or a hefty char-grilled eye fillet that is served with flaky shallot tart, ash-rolled goat’s cheese, caramelised onion and rocket. Match the mighty meaty meal with a cheeky El Presidente, a cocktail of Appleton rum, Noilly Pratt liquor, Glayva liquor and grenadine. The drink, named after the Cuban president, Gerado Machado, was the tipple of choice for the Cuban upper class circa 1921.

Accompanying the new culinary offering is a 60-strong cocktail list and a vast array of beers and wine to wet your whistle. Commanding some of the Gold Coast’s most exceptional views, Oskars is no longer reserved exclusively for special occasions and offers a casually sophisticated beach bar by day and ups the ante to become a trendy fine dining establishment by night. If your visit happens to fall outside of the weekend, you can enjoy enjoy two courses and a glass of wine or beer for $39.90.
