Sink your teeth into the Octodog at Harajuku Gyoza for this weekend only

If you’re partial to the odd dagwood dog (full disclosure – this is our one true weakness), make tracks to Harajuku Gyoza Beer Stadium to sink your teeth into the Japanese interpretation of the Aussie-as carnival classic. But be warned, the famous kawaii ‘Octodog’ is here for a good time not a long time, so you may want to put some haste into it.

Taking the Sydney and Brisbane markets by storm, the Octodog is made up of three tiny half-battered cheerio sausages that curl at the end to create three adorable (and delectable) sea creatures. Seaweed eyes are then added to make this dish fun and yum, a winning combination that is not only totally Instagrammable but drool-worthy as well.

The cute culinary creation will only be around for two short days as part of the Gold Coast Superhero Weekend festivities, which also features the highly anticipated Anime in the Mall event. Catch a free, silent screening of popular Anime films such as ‘My Neighbour Totoro’ and ‘Spirited Away’ directly outside Harajuku Gyoza Beer Stadium on the Broadbeach Mall Stage between 6:00–10:00 pm on Friday April 27 and 4:00–10:00 pm on Saturday April 28. The Octodog, plus other tasty Harajuku Gyoza treats, will be available to purchase for Anime in the Mall one hour before the first screening until 15 minutes before the last film screening. We’re usually pretty protective of beloved Australian bites, but these little morsels have captured our hearts – don’t miss out!

The Stumble Guide is our comprehensive Gold Coast dining guide with more than 870 places to eat, drink, shop and play.
