Byron Bay plant-based eatery No Bones is well-loved by locals for its fresh take on fare that’s both delicious and good for the planet. With an outdoor space perfect for enjoying summer meals alfresco and a top-notch cocktail list to boot, No Bones has all of the makings to become your new favourite meat-free munch spot.

For No Bones’ owners Laurie, Tahlia and Yasmina, the goal for their eatery is clear – to bring people together over good food that doesn’t negatively impact our planet. Serving up ethical plant-based fodder, No Bones attempts to help diners consider what they’re eating, where it comes from and the effect that it has on the Earth. We’re not talking boring salads and bland tofu here, folks – the flavour-packed menu choices will appeal to meat eaters and vegans alike, served alongside a stellar drink selection perfect for summertime sipping. Like all good things in life, the delicious morsels of goodness at No Bones are designed to be shared. That being said, you might be inclined to hoard every crumb of your order once you see what’s on offer! Small plates include Cooper’s Shoot tomato bruschetta with smoked-olive tapenade, basil oil and pickled red onions, miso-glazed Brussels sprouts with orange cream and hazelnuts, and the crispy fried ‘chicken’ with agave-sriracha glaze, sesame and spring onion. Got more of an appetite? Bigger plates such as the handmade beetroot ravioli with sage butter, roast walnuts, Botanical Cuisine macadamia fetta and baby rocket, the Beyond Meat beef burger with a dollop of No Bones special sauce, or the pulledbarbecue jackfruit burger will have you blissfully satiated. Those among us with a sweet tooth aren’t neglected, either – the drool-worthy dessert offering features a moreish spiced ginger cookie crumble with cashew mascarpone, fresh berries, raspberry coulis and cocoa nibs.

Luckily for our tastebuds, No Bones has recently introduced a mouth-watering array of cocktails imbued with a splash of summer – the ideal accompaniment to any combination of No Bones bites. You may struggle to stop at one, with a list that includes the Respect Your Elders (vodka, freshly squeezed green apple, St. Germaine elderflower, lime, prosecco and burnt sage) and the Fair-E Blossom (FAIR juniper gin, lychee and creme de cacao, lemon and a teaspoon of orange blossom). Did we mention that all of No Bone’s wines are independently made, natural, organic or biodynamic and sulphate free? They are, so that means they’re free of nasties and are better for your bod – just like the food!
