The round-up: where to eat, drink and pop bottles on the Gold Coast for New Year’s Eve

To say this year has been a wild ride is a pretty massive understatement but here we are, we made it (almost). The end of 2021 is so close we can smell it and amongst the glorious chaos of Christmas, it’s easy to forget about planning the biggest party of the year – New Year’s Eve! Whether you’re keen to bid the year adieu with fine food and fancy cocktails, keep things casual or go out with a bang (if ever there was a year to up the ante for NYE, this is it), we’ve rounded up a bunch of New Year’s Eve celebrations happening around the Gold Coast.

The Star Gold Coast
The Star Gold Coast is upping the ante this year with a smorgasbord of things to see, do and devour, from pretty picnics on The Lawn through to swanky sunset soirees and sumptuous spreads. If you’re keen to celebrate the last meal of 2021 with a bounty of seafood, succulent roast meats, summer salads and a dedicated dessert station, the newly reopened Harvest Buffet is the place to do it. Garden Kitchen & Bar is serving up three very tempting options for partygoers this New Year’s Eve with an a la carte meal in the restaurant (first seating from 5:00-7:00 pm), a set dinner menu and three-hour beverage package in the restaurant (second seating from 8:00 pm to late) and a picnic spread complete with a three-hour premium beverage package on The Lawn from 8:00 pm to late. Find more info about the food menu, drinks package and tickets online. For those craving an international flavour, Cucina Vivo has a handful of tables remaining for the first seating from 5:30–7:45 pm, but you’d better be quick! Jump over here to nab a table. Award-winning restaurant Kiyomi will also be playing host this New Year’s Eve, with two seatings available for a sumptuous nine-course set menu, created by visionary executive head chef Chase Kojima. Find menu details and book tickets online. If you’re in the mood for Cantonese cuisine, Uncle Su has you covered with both a la carte and banquet options for New Year’s Eve dinner. Join the first seating from 5:30-7:30 pm and choose your own foodie adventure from the a la carte menu, or bring a mighty appetite to the second seating from 8:00 pm to late. Peruse a detailed banquet menu and purchase tickets online.

Nineteen at The Star
Elevate your New Year’s Eve celebrations this year (literally and figuratively) at Nineteen at The Star. This sought-after locale will turn it up with a five-course Sunset Seating from 5:30-8:00 pm or a Moonlight Seating from 8:30 pm to late in the restaurant, or spend the evening sipping beverages and relaxing in the bar. The specially curated menu will feature options like confit duck rillette with pickled fig, grilled Patagonian toothfish, and chocolate meringue pie with Pedro Ximenez ice-cream.
