High teas and woodfired cuisine – there’s something for every mum at InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort

Does your mum fancy a spot of tea or would she prefer a flame-licked feast? Every mum is different and Mother’s Day gives us the chance to celebrate that. From delectable high tea treats to wood-fired grilled meats, the InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort is serving up something for every mum.

On Saturday May 11 and Sunday May 12 from 12:30-4:00 pm, the InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort is honouring mums with a decadent and immersive experience crafted alongside the fine teamakers of Tea Forté.

The high tea experience is curated to guide each guest on an opulent culinary journey. Upon arrival, a host will greet you and your mum with a delectable glass of rosè sparkling wine, where from there you can peruse the selection of fine Tea Forté teas on offer. Once bubbly with bubbles, you can treat your senses to three tiers of sweet and savoury delights, including the likes of spanner crab with saffron mayonnaise, slow-cooked 12-hour Toowoomba beef brisket, salted caramel choux with orchid vanilla tea cream, berry tart with ruby chocolate ganache, and raspberry mousse with frangipane, strawberries, rose water cream. Of course, no high tea would be complete without the chance to bite into a freshly made scone with jam and cream!

This elegant high tea treat starts at $75 per person and includes a glass of rosé sparkling wine, sweet and savoury delights, a coffee or a tea. Children can also experience high tea with Mum for $30 per child (aged 4 to 12), which replaces adult tipples for juice or soft drink. Bookings are essential and can be made online via the InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort website.

If dainty delights aren’t Mum’s cup of tea, you might want to embrace some heartier fare at The Fireplace, renowned for serving up some of the finest woodfired feasts on the Gold Coast. Its new menu boasts a bounty of locally sourced dishes seasoned with homegrown herbs. Enjoy the a la carte menu, which features the likes of freshly caught barramundi, braised beef short ribs, Black Angus scotch fillet cooked on the red gum wood grill, or slow-roasted lamb shoulder. Alternatively, treat Mum to the six-course degustation, bursting with culinary delights like grilled king prawns, smoked burrata, wagyu rump and fire-roasted pineapple – all of which are certified delish.
