Surfers Paradise Marriott Resort & Spa welcomes Misono Japanese Steakhouse
After 22 years, Surfers Paradise Marriott Resort & Spa’s teppanyaki institution, Benihana, has moved away from its American roots to feature a fresh new name and a new menu that is unique to the Gold Coast.
If you were ever taught not to play with your food, it’s time to break the rules at the Marriott’s new teppanyaki restaurant, Misono Japanese Steakhouse. Snack on a selection of sushi or fresh salmon sashimi, pick at some shared plates of edamame, karagge chicken and popcorn prawns or allow the knife-wielding masters to throw together a signature teppanyaki banquet for your evening’s edible entertainment. Served with miso soup, salad, Hibachi vegetables and a side of showmanship, the extensive selection of banquets have all of your favourite proteins covered including combinations of chicken, pork, prawns, lamb, lobster and steak. Finish your Japanese feast with a sake affogato or the chocolate and hazelnut semifreddo.
The fanciful new menu is accompanied by an extensive selection of sake, spirits and cocktails to wet your whistle. If you’ve never experienced the thrill of attempting to catch food in your mouth in public, you’re in for a treat as head chef Henry Bongay and his highly skilled team of culinary samurais slice and dice right before your eyes.
