MC’s Sandwich House is here to satiate your starvation with drool-inducing sandwiches, coffee and soda

Sandwiches are one of those perpetually underrated menu items. For far too long, the humble sambo has been relegated to the sidelines while burgers and tacos steal the limelight. Not anymore. The team at the newly opened MC’s Sandwich House in Burleigh Heads is determined to bring sangas back into the spotlight with its new dedicated sandwich bar and coffee dispensary on West Burleigh Road.

When it comes to sandwiches, not all are created equal. The all-important filling-to-bread ratio is a delicate balance – too much and it falls apart in your hands, too little and it’s just a little bit sad. MC’s Sandwich House is here to up the ante on the humble lunchtime staple with a neighbourhood noshery that specialises in three things – really good sandwiches, coffee, and sodas. While some eateries boast a menu that meanders multiple pages, MC’s has purposefully curated the succinct selection to preference quality over quantity. From 6:30 am, you can wrap your mitts around a house-made sausage and scrambled egg English muffin, or go sans sausage. From 9:00 am, the selection increases to five, including a curious kimchi Reuben and a Canadian classic rare roast beef that is slathered with housemade horseradish mayo and served with a cup of jus for dunking and slurping. Those who can’t resist a burger will love the jalapeno-brined fried chicken that offers a hint of heat, while plant-based pals can wrap their mitts around a chickpea salad hoagie or a panko-crumbed mushroom poh boy. There are no substitutions or extras here, each sandwich is designed to taste exactly as it tastes and they’re made fresh to order. Another thing you should know is that each sandwich is only available in limited quantities and once they sell out, that’s game over … until tomorrow.

Thirsty? You’ve come to the right place. Rounding out MC’s offering are brews utilising Coffee Supreme’s beans alongside a rotating selection of StrangeLove’s lo-cal sodas that range from a citrus-bomb of yuzu to a fiery lime and jalapeno-infused spicy sip. The new takeaway eatery is the vision of local creatives Jay Moricz and Josh Cumming, who, bound by their shared love of sandwiches, were inspired to create a multi-use hub that features a cafe in the front, a section for boutique retail, and a versatile gallery-style space that can host long table lunches alongside workshops, exhibitions and events, all under one roof. Time & Space is set to open later this year however MC’s Sandwich House and Love Connection is open now!
