Pavement Whispers: the owners of Little Truffle Dining Room & Bar are set to open a new Asian-inspired restaurant called Madame V
While it’s never easy to say goodbye to one of our faves, the promise of something equally as exciting waiting in the wings eases the sting somewhat. When Palm Beach Ave served its last prawn and bug agnolotti, the promise was made that something big was coming. Now, we’ve got our first taste of what that something, or perhaps more accurately, someone, is – meet Madame V – the forthcoming Asian-inspired venue from celebrated chef Daniel Ridgeway. Here’s what we know so far …
Best known for his two-hatted restaurant Little Truffle Dining Room & Bar, chef Daniel Ridgeway, alongside his wife Ruggie, are set to deliver a brand-new Asian-inspired concept called Madame V. The sophisticated venue, which is set to open next month, will meld traditional and modern Asian flavours to create a unique and delicious dining experience.
In terms of the menu, the a la carte offering is set to open with the likes of freshly shucked oysters and lobster baos alongside rolls of rainbow sushi (with the option to add a caviar topper) and delicate tuna tataki with chilli daikon, ponzu and crispy garlic. Madame V will also pioneer Yum Cha Sundays where you can settle in and graze your way through plates of dumplings and steamy buns as you sip bottomless green tea.
“Opening Madame V is a concept I have been working on for quite some time,” owner and head chef Daniel Ridgeway says. “Our goal is to create a vibrant space where people can enjoy exceptional Asian cuisine in a sophisticated yet relaxed setting. We’ve carefully curated our menu to offer a unique blend of flavours and textures from across Asia that will appeal to both adventurous and traditional palates.”
And we’re told that Madame V is set to impress when it comes to the fit-out. The specific details are being kept under wraps for the moment, but we’re hearing whispers of lots of draping, heavy velvet curtains, a chic lounge bar and striking oriental wallpaper.
As always, we’ll have all of the delicious details for you oh-so-soon. For more updates, follow Madame V on Instagram.
