Lost Palms Brewing Co sways into Miami
It’s big, bubbly and millennial pink. We know, that’s hardly the description you’d expect for a brewery, but it’s true. Lost Palms Brewing Co is Gold Coast’s newest craft brewery and as of Friday November 10, it’s officially open for business … and by business, we mean beers.
About half way along Oak Avenue in Miami (near the KFC) lies a glorious pink warehouse – that’s Lost Palms. This eye-catching boutique brewery is the brainchild of beer-swilling buddies Jarrod Blanning and Joe Lister, along with brewer and chemical engineer John Walz. The trio set out to create their own beer oasis in the seaside hub of Miami, with an aim of injecting sessionable beers, a fun vibe and a helluva lot of pink into the region’s craft-brewing circle. It’s early days, but you can already find Lost Palms on the taps of Lester & Earl in Palm Beach as well as Fitz + Potts and Zero Fox in Brisbane.
So far, there’s a core range of suds in the Lost Palms line up, from a summer ale to an American Pale Ale, an amber ale and a porter. You can expect to see a lot more variety pop up as they delve deeper into development and tasting (yum) over time. The fellas will be having a bit of fun when it comes to limited-release beers – at the moment they’re pouring a ‘beetroot sour’ beer and a kombucha-infused brew, so you can expect the boundaries to be pushed on the regular. There’s a tap house at the front of the brewery with bench seating and an indoor-outdoor bar area, with a capacity of about 100 beer drinkers. The kitchen will kickstart in the coming weeks with simple eats like burgers, wings and fries, and you’ll also find a couple of local food trucks rolling in from time to time.
