Sanctuary Cove Resort brings Euro summer to the Gold Coast with new $2.5-million Lagoon Beach Club
If you missed out on experiencing a European summer this year, there’s still time to get your much-needed dose of summertime vacay vibes at InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort’s new scorching-hot beach club. After four months of renovations, Lagoon Beach Club is opening its doors to revellers this Friday (December 1), and is set to supply endless sipping, snacking and swimming adventures.
A first-of-its-kind for the northern Gold Coast, Lagoon Beach Club is already ticking boxes (in our humble opinion). Not only can you enjoy flavoursome fare and tasty tipples beachside, but you can also jump into the resort’s expansive one-acre beach pool – after you’ve waited the appropriate time for your food to settle, of course. For $30 per person, guests are granted an all-day pass to make use of the lagoon and pool facilities at their leisure. You can while away the day on the expansive deck overlooking the lagoon, under a cabana or simply relaxing waterside on a day bed. “As the northern Gold Coast becomes more populated, there is a gap in the market for a destination-inspired venue that brings the ‘beach’ to this part of the coast, ” Sanctuary Cove Resort general manager Matt Rippin says. “It was important for us to create a fresh, vibrant and contemporary space that touches on the fun of a European beach club, which also caters to families. It’s a holiday experience that transports guests far away from their busy lives.”
When it comes to the mouth-watering menu, it’s all about summer. With a focus on casual poolside palate-pleasers, you can sink your teeth into the likes of gourmet pizzas, fresh seafood, sharing platters and burgers, alongside a salivation-inducing selection of small bites and salads. The food offering is further bolstered by a stacked drinks list that includes the club’s signature cocktails, destination-inspired classics and jugs to share, as well as local beers and premium wines.
