Kazbah adds to Coolangatta’s culinary offering
Kazbah is set to open its doors at The Strand overlooking beautiful Coolangatta beach and will be the sixth of its kind from owners Zahi and Penny Azzi.
Prepare to take a culinary trip abroad and be delighted by a unique fusion of Middle Eastern, Turkish, Persian, Mediterranean and Moroccan/North African dishes at Coolangatta’s Kazbah restaurant.
The menu is bursting with flavours that are inspired by the owners’ Lebanese and Turkish/Greek heritage including zaatar, dukka, sumac, cumin and cardamon. The food is not rich with creams and butters, but rather fresh with spices giving each dish depth and character. Kick-start your morning with Kazbah’s Famous Breakfast, a lamb mince tagine with sucuk, spinach, roast capsicum, tomato, caramelised onion, fetta and eggs. Or the Casablanca Royal that delivers 12-hour braised lamb shoulder, roast vegetables, sultana jam. Fresh ingredients are sourced locally while some dry goods are imported to keep things authentic. For anyone who has had the pleasure of traditional Turkish coffee, Kazbah is likely to be your new favourite haunt. Or if coffee isn’t your thing, there is a Moroccan mint tea consisting of seven different herbs and spices.
Kazbah will be open in the coming days, and for opening hours and contact details, head to our Stumble Guide.
