George Calombaris’ Jimmy Grants is coming to the Gold Coast!
Tender lamb, tangy mustard aioli, perfectly seasoned chips and zesty parsley wrapped in a soft pita … sounds like Greek street-food heaven right? What your mouth is watering over is the Mr Papadopoulos souva, one of the signature dishes at George Calombaris’ casual eatery Jimmy Grants. And you won’t need a trip to Melbourne to get your hands on one – Jimmy is making his way to the Gold Coast very soon.
You heard it here first dear readers – George Calombaris is bringing Jimmy Grants to the Gold Coast! The renowned chef has set his sights on a location in Robina, set to open in late October/early November this year. The casual Greek eatery has earned itself a lot of praise in Melbourne, with five locations dotted around the city. The Gold Coast store will have a similar offering to its southern siblings, with a few new items thrown in the mix.
To get your belly rumbling, here’s the food low-down. Jimmy Grants specialises in souvas (souvlakis/yiros) with fillings of lamb, chicken, prawns and falafels with tasty salads. You can also get a plate packed with all the good stuff – think slow-roasted lamb or chicken from the spit with tzatziki and pita bread. Salads and snacks are on offer as well, and you can finish with George’s modern take on traditional Greek sweets … helllooooo baklava ice-cream sandwich.
