The round-up: how to support those affected by the floods
The weather we all experienced over the weekend was wild and unprecedented. Now that the rain has paused, many are taking stock of the damage inflicted by heavy pours and rising waters. Numerous homes and businesses have been seriously affected by the event, with many now relying on community support to get back on their feet. We’re compiling a growing list of ways you can show your support in these trying times, including links to donation pages for those with the means to lend assistance as well as local donation drop-off points. This list is by no means exhaustive, but if – like us – you’re feeling a little helpless, it’s a good place to start.
GIVIT’s Storms and Flooding donations
Online donation platform GIVIT is partnering with the Queensland Government to help manage and facilitate offers of donated goods, services, volunteering and funds. Those with the means to assist can jump onto GIVIT’s storm- and flood-relief portal to check the list of what’s needed (including grocery and clothing vouchers) in impacted Southeast Queensland local government areas.

They will also be accepting cash donations and Bunnings vouchers.
