The scorching midday heat, the smell of bug spray mixed with sizzling snags filling the air and a grumbling tummy getting louder as the minutes tick by – a Saturday arvo barbecue is an undeniable part of the quintessential summer experience. If you’re keen to pick up the tongs one coming weekend, we suggest ordering your next bevy of barbecue bites from Horizon Grazing – a paddock-to-plate experience that’s delivering ethically raised meat straight to your door.

Based out of a cattle station called Redland Park in Toowoomba, Horizon Grazing is a family owned-and-operated meat delivery service that’s hoping to make a positive impact on the beef industry. The Horizon Grazing team pride itself on ethically raising cattle – think large open spaces, an on-site vet and zero hormones – and producing great tasting free-range beef. The Queensland-based business’ paddock-to-plate experience ensures conscious customers are able to purchase high-welfare product, which in the end, tastes better than your average grocery store steak.

One thing that is guaranteed is that you and your carnivorous clan won’t be going hungry, as there are a number of belly-filling boxes to choose from. Meat-eaters can cut their teeth on A Taste of The Outback box ($199), which includes two fillet steaks, four porterhouse or T-bone steaks, one roast, one corned meat, one kilogram worth of sausages, one kilogram of mince and one kilogram of crumb steak. The BBQ box ($100) is the primo weekend party starter with rissoles, ribs and sausages, whereas the Beefed Up box ($310) has enough steak, roast and mince to satisfy tastebuds for weeks. Those who want to go all out can splash out on The Family Feast box ($450), which is perfect for filling your freezer, feeding the family and entertaining. Dog parents can even treat their pooch to a taste of the good stuff, with a five-kg box of bones available to snag.

Horizon Grazing will be delivering its next batch of farm-raised meat from March 1–4 and in a win for us, there’s free delivery to Brisbane and Gold Coast. To secure your set of meaty morsels, make tracks to the Horizon Grazing website.
