For Megan and Lawrence, the pair behind the Gold Coast’s Hole Bagel Co, a bagel is more than a simple baked good; it’s a labour of love. Each one of their beautiful bagels is hand rolled, slow proved, boiled and baked by them for your eating enjoyment.

After sampling their first authentic New York-inspired bagel on the streets of Brick Lane in the East End of London, Megan and Lawrence were hooked, line and sinker. Obsessed with the deliciously dense and chewy delights, the couple scoured cafes and bakeries upon return to the Gold Coast but were saddened by their search results. The pair, not willing to contemplate a life without bagels, began creating their own and just like that Hole Bagel Co was born. Fast forward a short while and Hole Bagel Co is now churning out authentic boiled bagels at the Palm Beach Currumbin farmers markets and the Gold Coast Turf club markets on a weekly basis as well as supplying a number of cafes around the coast.

Hole Bagel Co’s bagels follow a traditional method, where every bagel is hand shaped, slow proved overnight to develop its distinctive flavour profile, boiled in water with barley malt extract syrup and salt and finally baked until golden.
