Get set – Harry’s Steak Bistro & Bar is opening on October 27
Burleigh is set to explode into a French-inspired frenzy of beef, booze and banter with the beachside suburb’s latest establishment, Harry’s Steak Bistro & Bar, to officially open its doors on Thursday October 27. Owner Adam Haralampou’s take on traditional Parisian-style steak frites (steak and fries) will be the hero of the new bistro’s menu, which will focus heavily on top-quality cuts of beef served alongside unlimited frites.
After nailing modern Italian cuisine with the ever-popular Justin Lane, Adam had his sights set on bringing his passion for casual French fare to the Gold Coast in the form of steak frites – and we reckon his take on the Parisian classic is pretty mind-blowing. Harry’s interior is fresh and welcoming, combining the casual, high-energy appeal of bistro-style dining with the experience of eating a great quality steak. Superior produce aside, there’s nothing too swanky going on here – think of Harry’s as being similar in dynamic to Justin Lane, but with steak. The impressive 150-seat bistro will showcase four cuts of beef on its menu – one organic grass-fed, one pasture-fed, one dry-aged on the bone, plus a highly marbled grain-fed wagyu. Each cut will be cooked to your liking and served with bread, house-churned butter, salad and endless (yes, endless) frites.
Harry’s will also offer a tasty bar menu featuring dishes like steak tartare and hearty steak sandwiches, which will be served in the adjoining casual bar space. The menu will also include a pescatarian and vegetarian option, for the less carnivorous among us. In true style, Harry’s is going all-out with the booze, with a strong focus on wine and beer. With around 25 different wines on offer, including plenty of reds (steak’s best friend), the cellar menu has been designed to favour sustainable, organic, biodynamic and natural winemaking practices. There wont’ be any bottled beer or cider, instead there will be eight different beers on tap, plus one cider and one tap cocktail. Affectionately named after Adam’s late grandfather, who was a butcher in his own right and a great lover of beef, Harry’s Steak Bistro & Bar will hit the mark for foodies who want to enjoy top-quality fare with a little bit of fun in the air.
