HAND Coffee opens its first caffeine nook in the heart of Broadbeach

Broadbeach, your coffee game just went up a notch. HAND Coffee, an acronym for Have A Nice Day (rad name) has just opened a hole-in-the-wall espresso bar in the heart of the Broadbeach mall. If you appreciate specialty coffee and are partial to a sneaky toasted jaffle and a slab of buttery banana bread, then you’ll want to get yourself acquainted with this new little gem.

Local lads Mitch Kavic and Luke Dempsey-Ceh are the duo behind HAND Coffee. Both are familiar faces on the local cafe scene, having done the rounds as baristas across a number of establishments like Borough Barista, Burleigh Social and No Name Lane. HAND is their first venture, and it’s not only filling a gap for specialty coffee in the precinct, it’s also filling a tight little gap beneath a set of stairs in between Envy bar and McDonald’s. Yeah, it’s a tiny space, but it’s well and truly all about the coffee.

HAND is the first to bring the taste of Melbourne’s renowned coffee roaster Industry Beans to the Gold Coast. In fact, HAND is the only venue in Queensland where you’ll find this delicious Fitzroy-based coffee brand. Whilst coffee is (clearly) king here, the gents are soon to launch a killer selection toasted jaffles, banana bread, brownies and on-the-go treats to accompany the caffeine. Over the coming weeks, there will also be a casual seating area with fancy milk crates added, so you can sit, sip and have a nibble. There’s certainly a little hint of Melbourne’s laneway vibe here, which is pretty darn cool.
