Pull up a stool at the bar and indulge in an aperitif and a bite of bruschetta but as soon as you get a glimpse of the pizzas emerging from the wood-fired oven, your eyes will light up like a kid on Christmas morning. The menu offers a few tried-and-tested favourites alongside a delightful new selection of small plates so you can enjoy starters of eggplant dusted with pecorino (cheese) and drizzled with gorgonzola (more cheese) and grilled polenta topped with eight-hour slow cooked Angus beef cheek ragu before moving on to the pizzas. The pizzas, in true Italian style, aren’t loaded with an abundance of flavourless toppings, rather each one is adorned with a restrained scattering of perfectly considered ingredients to let the true flavour shine through. And if gluten is not your friend, there are gluten-free bases available.
