Gemelli Italian turns one

Forget fairy bread and sausage rolls, Gemelli Italian’s first birthday party in Broabeach will be filled with some seriously delectable Italian eats and drinks.

Be tempted with a fanciful selection of cicchetti, Italian tapas, including freshly made Grissini wrapped in San Daniele prosciutto, Arrosticini (lamb skewers), homemade Zabaglione gelato and Nutella bombolini for dessert at Gemelli Italian’s first birthday party on Friday December 12.

Each course is paired with an Italian wine that complements the flavours of the food including a Sangiovese Merlot from Tuscany, a Montepulciano d’Abruzzo from Abruzzo, Pinot Grigio from Veneto, a Chardonnay from Puglia and a DOC Prosecco from Veneto.

The lavish cocktail-style party, hosted by owners and brothers James and Alec Carney, is intended as a celebration of authentic, honest Italian flavours that the restaurant is famous for. Gemelli Italian is the result of a vision to bring a little slice of Italy to Broadbeach on the Gold Coast without a single red chequered tablecloth in sight.

Guests will also be treated to the sweet sounds of Sydney artist Matt Boylan-Smith.
