Make friends with FISHBOWL’s brand-new outpost at Robina Town Centre

When FISHBOWL arrived in Burleigh Heads in August last year, locals were quick to embrace the concept of Japanese-inspired salad bowls loaded with deliciously fresh ingredients. With the beachside eatery humming, the team decided that now was the ideal time to cast the net a little wider and are set to open a brand-new eatery at Robina Town Centre on Saturday April 1. Here’s everything you need to know …

From this weekend, shoppers at Robina Town Centre will be able to skip the regular fast food options and opt for one of FISHBOWL’s famous salad bowls loaded with tasty toppings including salmon sashimi, poached chicken or tofu. The Sydney-born chain, founded by three university students Nathan Dalah, Nic Pestalozzi and Casper Ettelson, is on a mission to revolutionise the concept of fast food. The health-focussed model has clearly struck a chord with audiences, growing to 30-plus locations across the east coast of Australia, making FISHBOWL Australia’s fastest growing quick service restaurant. The expansion to Robina was a natural decision for the crew – FISHBOWL’s co-founder Nicolas Pestalozzi adds,“Off the back of our first six months in Burleigh Heads, the locals and beyond were requesting another location for the not-so-beachy days, in came Robina, a busy, bustling, and convenient precinct.”

At its core, FISHBOWL is more than just a quick bite, the brand champions sustainability and ethical sourcing practices while celebrating the provenance of its fare. The salmon, for example, is exclusively sourced from the world’s most sustainable salmon supplier, which is based in New Zealand. FISHBOWL empowers consumers to make better food-related choices, while simultaneously sparking conversations around conscious eating. This time around, the crew has partnered with LIVIN for the launch of its Robina outlet. “There is an undeniable connection between the food we eat and the way we feel. Through our movement initiatives, real food, and community events, we’re on a mission to empower people to live healthier lives so they feel awesome,” Nic says. $1 from every bowl sold on Saturday April 1 will be donated to LIVIN’s mental health education program.

For those who are new to the FISHBOWL experience, it goes like this – select from the BYOB (build your own bowl) menu, which invites you to choose your own adventure, including your choice of base, protein, vegetables, dressings, toppings, and any extra add-ons. If, however, that all feels like a little bit too labour intensive, there’s a selection of house favourites, which includes the likes of The O.G. (FISHBOWL’s biggest seller, which combines kale, savoy, beets, shallots, edamame, red onion, roasted sesame dressing, seaweed salad, tobiko and crispy shallots with salmon sashimi) and the newly added Chilli Chicken, with poached chicken, sweet potato, cabbage, kale, cucumber, radish, mild hot-chilli peppers dressing and a umami crunch. Wash it down with a cold-pressed juice or a Karma Cola and you’re ready to keep on shopping.

FISHBOWL Robina will open on Saturday April 1 from 11:00 am with free avo, complimentary drinks from Giddy Citizen and fun beats throughout the day. Head to our Stumble Guide for details.
