The Pacific Fair edition of Finn Poké may be the second venue for Jem Jacinto and sister Joelle Boehnert, but it certainly won’t be their last. Yep, there will be another Finn Poké coming to the Gold Coast very soon – you can get the low-down in week’s Pavement Whispers. So, for the uninitiated, Finn Poké made a name for itself in Byron Bay for serving truly authentic Hawaiian poke bowls with hints of Japanese influence, using Northern Rivers ingredients and high-end sustainably caught local seafood.

While it’s proven itself very popular with southern foodies, Finn Poké shouldn’t be mistaken for slinging out bowls to the masses from a production line. Rather, each poke bowl is passionately handcrafted with finesse, using flavours and ingredients that are designed to stay true to the classic recipes. You won’t find any teriyaki chicken here – the options are fresh fish, organic tofu or roasted beetroot, which are offered in series of vibrant and well-curated combinations. Those that like living on the edge can build their own bowls, choosing from ingredients like pickled pawpaw, finger-lime caviar, watermelon radish and citrus kale. It doesn’t stop at the bowls – you can snack while you sip with a range of ice-cold sake on offer, as well as kombucha, Stone & Wood beer and nitro coffee cans.

Finn Poké officially opens to the public on Saturday June 16 and they’ll be giving away 100 free (yes, free!) mini poke bowls to celebrate.
