Fig + Frankies has had a facelift, and it’s got us tickled pink

It’s a classic story – boy meets girl, they settle down, open a hugely popular bar and, due to demand, expand into a full-service restaurant while juggling a little one … no, but seriously – Bella and Euan Lovell are a powerhouse duo who have just opened the new-look Fig + Frankies in the heart of Broadbeach. Step inside this aesthetically pleasing locale to discover an impressive drinks list and the delicious new menu that will now accompany it.

Tucked down an unassuming laneway, Broadbeach gem Fig + Frankies has accrued a cult following of Gold Coast locals and visitors who have fallen in love with the cute laneway bar. With a constant line-up of eager patrons waiting to snaffle a seat, owners Euan and Bella decided to give the people what they wanted and expand the space. The finished product is a dreamy peach-hued interior featuring flower-filled archways and soft, intimate lighting. It’s the kind of place you want to settle into for deep conversations – accompanied by a glass of wine and delicious bites, of course.

With an expanded menu to reflect the larger space, Fig + Frankies is now serving a larger array of delicious dinner options as opposed to just nibbles. The menu still features tapas-style bites to graze on while you imbibe one of the hand-crafted cocktails on offer – think haloumi smothered in truffle honey, lemon and paprika hummus with crispy flat bread, and sardines with sourdough. Beyond snacks, Fig + Frankies is now serving up an array of more substantial fare like spicy Korean cauliflower, a creamy carbonara and haloumi tacos. Plus, if you simply love a cheese platter to enjoy alongside a top-notch tipple to kick the night off, you’re in luck – Fig + Frankies also crafts a killer charcuterie board. Speaking of tipples, take a minute to peruse the expansive cocktail list – the ever-evolving selection is dictated by the supply of hand-picked, locally sourced ingredients.
