Fiery Deli brings the heat to Burleigh Heads

From humble beginnings as a market stall, Fiery Deli expanded to a food truck and has just opened its first bricks-and-mortar eatery at Burleigh Heads.

If you’ve happily stumbled across Fiery Deli’s mobile eatery, you’ll already be acquainted with the fare on offer. For those who haven’t, prepare your tastebuds for a culinary journey filled with amazingly fresh arepas (Venezuela’s answer to the pita bread) that are bursting with free range chicken, chunky avocado and coriander, hefty bowls of nachos as well as traditional Venezuelan plates that are filled to the brim with rice, beans, shredded beef and cooked Plantain bananas. The Latin-inspired menu is designed to deliver a nourishing food experience that is gluten-, dairy-, yeast- and sugar-free, even the arepas, while they may look delightfully doughy and bread-like in appearance, are actually made from cornmeal so they are naturally gluten-free and delicious. A word to the wise, the arepas can get a little messy, but that’s all part of the experience of Venezuelan cuisine. Wash it down with a swig of the fresh cold-pressed orange juice that is made in-house or sip on a Blackboard coffee or organic tea.

The family-operated crew, helmed by owners Eric and Trish along with brothers Kevin and Daniel, is intensely and infectiously passionate about Venezuelan cuisine, which a creates a welcoming and exciting atmosphere that you can’t help but get caught up in. Dietary requirements are accommodated with ease and there are plans to expand the morning menu however for now, it’s just the favourites from the food truck.
