Pavement Whisper: EFSHAR Restaurant and Wine Bar is bringing modern Australian bites to Labrador

After a couple of tumultuous (understatement) years in the dining scene, the rumour mill is in overdrive with whispers of new openings and exciting eateries in the pipeline, and we couldn’t be happier. One in particular that has piqued our interest is EFSHAR Restaurant and Wine Bar, which is set to bring elevated sips and modern Australian bites to the Broadwater. Inspired by the flavours of land and sea, the sophisticated spot is set to open oh-so-soon, and here’s what we know so far …

Translated to mean ‘possible’ in Hebrew, EFSHAR is a nod to the idea that if you can dream it, anything is possible. Assuming prime position at the base of Aqua on the Broadwater, EFSHAR Restaurant and Wine Bar will boast stunning water views alongside a smart aesthetic featuring a fireplace, dressed table settings and cosy lounges to sink into with a glass of vino in hand. Envisaged as a mid-point between smart casual and fine dining, EFSHAR is set to deliver a sophisticated menu of worldy wines alongside a menu that is loosely categorised as modern Australian with some international twists – think entrees of pan-fried sardines on garlic bread and crispy char-grilled octopus with chilli butter. For mains, we’re told to expect some pretty impressive hot-and-cold seafood platters as well as some hot-and-cold land-based platters, which include braised beef cheek, kangaroo loin, sirloin steak and pork belly.

Not to be outdone by the fare, we’re told Efshar will also feature a pretty impressive wine list that has been carefully curated to accompany the culinarily diverse menu. EFSHAR will be the second hospitality venture for Whatever U Want Pty Ltd, which has also brought us WE Cafe in Paradise Point. They had us at wine by the fire.

As always, we’ll give you a closer look at EFSHAR Restaurant and Wine Bar in coming weeks.
