Cornerstone Stores has arrived and it’s even better than you imagined

When whispers broke of what was to come on the high-profile site fronting the Gold Coast Highway on the border of Currumbin and Tugun, it’s fair to say you guys were excited. Well, friends, the time has come. Cornerstone Stores has opened its doors and holy heck, it’s even more glorious than you imagined – and that’s just the walk-in cheese room.

In case you missed it, Cornerstone Stores is a new boutique retail and food precinct that has popped up across from Currumbin Sanctuary. Designed by architects Richards & Spence, the red brick-clad project with exposed concrete and matte-black fixtures is undeniably aesthetically pleasing, but trust us when we say Cornerstone is way more than just a pretty face. The venue offers a tightly curated collection of boutique retail and office spaces ranging from a fromagerie and wine cellar to an organic vegan hairdresser and a nursery. So, what’s on offer? We’re glad you asked.

Cornerstone Stores is anchored by a flagship eatery called Stable Coffee and Kitchen, which is guaranteed to be the backdrop for plenty of Insta-stories thanks to its next-level fit-out. The venue features a predominantly plant-based menu alongside Melbourne’s Seven Seeds speciality coffee. Take a peek at our Food News feature to find out more of the juicy details.

Next up, Little Loves caters to the wee ones with a gorgeous range of kidswear from local labels such as Sweet Child of Mine from Currumbin, Our Folk, Children of the Tribe and ridiculously adorable cots from Sacred Bundle. But it’s not all about the small folk, next door’s Kind Curations offers a lust-worthy range of womenswear from international and local labels including Stone Cold Fox, Christy Dawn and minimalist surf suits from Hakea Swim. For your home, there’s Falcon enamelware, ceramics by Jo Norton and Bodha incense, to name a few.

Green thumbs, you’ll be in plant heaven at The Borrowed Nursery‘s new space. The store is bursting with flora of all kinds alongside candles and ceramics but be warned, it’s pretty much impossible to leave empty handed. Whether you’re a natural or you manage to somehow kill a cactus (we feel you, friend), Lauren can recommend something to suit and equip you with all of the knowledge necessary to keep it alive.

Wine and cheese, is there a more glorious combination? We think not. If you concur, get ready to fall in cheesy, lusty love with Quince. The boutique fromagerie features a mouthwatering selection of French, Spanish, Italian and European cheeses in a temperature controlled walk-in cheese room, which is kept between a frosty two and four-degrees. But what’s cheese without sides? Don’t worry, Quince has you covered with a selection of charcuterie meats and antipasto goods. As for the wine, don’t go in expecting to find your fav Jacobs Creek drops. Instead, you will be greeted with a fantastic array of tipples – the store offers mostly European brands alongside a few small-batch Australian labels (such as Delinquente Wine Co) plus biodynamic and organic wines.

Next door, Prae is dedicated to all things wellness and lifestyle with activewear from Nimble, PE Nation and First Base, which uses sustainable organic cotton, alongside a range of non-toxic candles, yoga mats, cookbooks and natural cosmetics and skincare. You’ve probably seen a bunch of the brands online but if you are someone who needs to see and smell, this is your place. Prae also stocks Burleigh’s plant-based skincare label Cedar + Stone, organic vegan perfume by One Seed and organic makeup from Inika. Rounding out the ground-floor offering is Zanzi, an organic vegan hairdresser that delivers high fashion results without the toxic chemical overload.

Upstairs, you’ll find Earth Essence Beauty, which offers organic, natural and vegan beauty therapy, alongside the.body.method pilates, barre and yoga studio and World Resorts Of Distinction resort marketing agency.

So there you have it. That’s Cornerstone Stores in all its delicious, heaven-scented glory. We told you it was more than a pretty face. Stable is open from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm daily and all of the stores are open from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
