Sip designer drinks at Cherry – the Gold Coast’s sleek new cocktail bar

Cocktail connoisseurs, there’s a swish new bar in town that you’ll definitely want to place high on your sipping list. Friends, this is Cherry – it’s draped in gold, red velvet and shimmering chandeliers, and it’s the latest (and most opulent) new addition to The Star Gold Coast. We’re pretty sure the balance between sophistication and sass has just been nailed.

The sleek new cocktail lounge, located in the space formerly occupied by J Bar, features an extravagant fit-out highlighted by an impressive 22-metre gold-trimmed bar (fancy). Cherry’s four intimate VIP booths, elegantly cocooned by detailed gold screens, are an eye catching addition – and are also pretty perfect for a sophisticated group affair. Designed by award-winning Queensland architectural firm Brand & Slater, Cherry is very much about the fine detail– from the lavish lighting to the plush red-velvet furnishings and intricate crystal features.

The grandeur of the space is mirrored behind the bar, with premium offerings showcased across the glass-backed bar shelves. Specialising in ‘designer drinks’, Cherry will feature a seasonal signature cocktail menu, which has been curated by The Star’s expert team of mixologists. Whilst you’ll find all of your favourite classic cocktails like cosmopolitans, espresso martinis and caipirinhas done (very) well here, you can expect the boundaries to be pushed from behind the bar with innovative new flavours and infused spirits (hellooo lemongrass and ginger gin).

Cherry is now open to the public. Head over our Stumble Guide for opening hours.
