We've got a secret for you. Nestled along the Gold Coast Highway in Broadbeach is a bright red door in the shape of a London telephone box. There's no sign, but push open the handle and step inside to discover the coast's first speakeasy-style bar – Soho Place. Here's the catch – you can actually BYO food if you so desire. The intriguing new bar, which is one of the first on the Gold Coast to operate legally with no food service and no kitchen, will officially open today (June 15). more

See, The Weekend Edition loves it when a Gold Coast bar or restaurant serves up a culinary creation or cocktail using the best of Queensland produce – so much so that it jumped at the chance to partner with the Queensland Government for Queensland Week from June 4–12.
