Wrap your mitts around a seriously stacked burger from Burger’d in Varsity Lakes

We have a confession – as much as we enjoy delightful degustations and fancy feasts, sometimes, it’s the simple pleasure of sinking our teeth into a big, juicy burger that really hits the spot. If you too are powerless to resist the irresistible siren song of burgers, you may want to block your ears, because there’s a brand-new burger joint in town that is dishing up drool-inducing stacks, wickedly good wings and hotdogs. Read on for all of the devilish details …

Transforming the former newsagent at Christine Corner, Burger’d at Varsity Lakes is the eighth restaurant under the Burger’d banner, joining sibling spots in Coomera, Biggera Waters, Ashmore, Arundel and Pacific Pines. The burger brand, which started in 2015 by business partners Benny Xie and John Zhang, was designed to turn takeaway on its head and deliver hand-crafted burgers made using top notch, locally sourced ingredients. The patties, for example, are made from 100-percent pure beef with nothing else added. They know that because they come from Burger’d’s exclusive butcher, which is a similar story for milk buns, the lettuce and tomato and sauces that are slathered on each of the burgers.

You may have deduced by now that the burgers are the hero, with options categorised by beef, chicken, vegetarian and the seriously hefty 8-oz beef burgers, which are definitely not for the faint hearted. The Krunch’d southern-fried chicken, which is available as wings or tenders, is mouthwateringly crisp, just the way you want it to be. For a fun twist, order a serve of waffle fries, or keep it classic with the regular thick-cut beer-battered fries, and you, my friend, have yourself all of the ingredients for a food coma of the best kind. Rabbit food it is not, but if you’re up for a solid cheat day and want to make it count, Burger’d in Varsity Lakes is now open. Eat responsibly.
