Boom Boom Burgers brings the heat to Chevron Island
The American food wave that is taking over the Gold Coast has continued following the opening of Boom Boom Burgers. Tucked-away off the main thoroughfare in Chevron Island, the eatery is plating up American classics with a little French finesse.
Before you go assuming Boom Boom Burgers is just another American-inspired eatery, you should know that it is the latest venture from Michelin-starred chef Meyjitte Boughenout, former owner of Absynthe French Restaurant, and Arnaud Ollivier. Be lured by more than a dozen burger varieties including its signature Smoking Hot burger that arrives at your table under a dome of vapour that billows out as you lift the lid. Whilst modest in appearance, the taste is anything but and is built upon a cloud-like brioche roll and topped with 150-day aged smoked beef, mushrooms, cucumber, spinach, cheddar and secret sauce. The focus at Boom Boom is on flavour and given the gents’ background in fine food, it’s something they know a thing or two about. If burgers don’t float your boat, munch on the My Hairy Dog hot-dog that contains bratwurst sausage, cheese, onions, American mustard and house-made tomato sauce or pick your way around a selection of tapas plates. Whatever you decide, a serve (or three) of the Puff Potatoes is a necessity. Wash it down with an ale from Boom Boom’s delightfully curated collection of craft beers, wine and cocktails to share.
Boom Boom Burgers brings together quality ingredients including organic grain-fed beef and locally sourced produce within a casual environ. Eat in or takeaway and if you’re in a hurry, call ahead and they will bring your order right to your car. See our Stumble Guide for opening times.
