Celebrate brunch at Big Sur Coffee in Labrador
It’s that wonderful meal that isn’t quite breakfast but isn’t quite lunch and is just made for lazy winter mornings. If you’re impartial to a little brunch, mosey on in to Big Sur Coffee in Labrador.
Get your morning off to a stellar start with a serve of sourdough topped with a thick slather of creamed corn, gooey poached egg and finished with a green chilli relish or because any time of the day is a good time for potato, opt for the house special bubble and squeak that includes slow cooked corned beef brisket smothered in homemade HP sauce, crispy fried egg, roasted potatoes and carrots. The brunch-style seasonal menu at Big Sur Coffee resembles something you might find hidden down a Melbourne laneway and offers a tasty alternative to your standard smashed avocado and bacon and egg breakfast. Judging from the people milling about waiting for a table, it’s certainly a hit with the locals.
The venue is the second for owner Matthew Cossens, who also established Niche Espresso in Miami. Matthew’s gift for transforming non-descript suburban spaces into quaint hole-in-the-wall cafes is abundantly apparent as you look around Big Sur Coffee. The minimalist surrounds are reflective of Matt’s approach to food – simple yet satisfying. See our Stumble Guide for opening times.
