Take a culinary trip at the Bavarian Bier Cafe
Don your dirndls and lederhosen as there is a new menu at Barvarian Bier Cafe in Broadbeach that offers a mix of hearty classics as well as some new lighter dishes that won’t have you leaving in a food coma.
While other restaurants are adding comfort dishes to the menu, Bavarian Bier Cafe has done the opposite and has added a stack of new lighter options including popcorn shrimp ‘dampfnudel’ buns, grilled pork with Asian vegetable salad and crisp-roasted New Zealand hapuka. The new menu, that is exclusive to the Broadbeach venue, is inspired by its beachside location and presents the new modern creations alongside traditional Bavarian classics including the legendary crispy Schweinshaxe (pork knuckle), signature schnitzels and haus-made sausages that are available in a delicious range of flavours including grilled Nürnberger, Swiss Bratwurst, cheese Kransky, chilli-spiced Debreziner and Frankfurter.
For the serious appetites, munch on the Munich Brewers Platter that contains Bier-braised short rib, barbecue pork belly, roasted pork knuckle, sausages and schnitzel served with sauerkraut, red cabbage, Spätzle, roasted potatoes and Bier jus. Wash it down with a stein of German bier or mix things up a bit with a glass of Glühwein (mulled wine) or a dash of two of the spezialitäten schnapps. With more than a dozen different flavours including Waldheidelbeer (sweet blueberry), Danziger Goldwasser (herbal liquor with Gold Leaf) and Aprikose (apricot) to choose from, you may be a while.
