Pavement Whisper: Aperitivo Cafe & Panini Bar is coming soon to Currumbin
Winter is wrapping up for another year, which means that blissful days by the beach are just around the corner. Excitingly, so too is Aperitivo Cafe & Panini Bar, which is coming soon to Thrower Drive in Currumbin. The new Italian-style casual eatery will specialise in takeaway bites that are best enjoyed sprawled out by the water. Here’s everything we know so far …
For those who spend time in and around Currumbin, we’ve caught wind of a brand-new cafe and panini bar that is set to open in mid-October. The casual new eatery will be the handiwork of husband-and-wife duo Matteo and Liana Secci, who moved here from Melbourne last year with their wood-fired pizza oven truck in tow. The pair, who both have extensive backgrounds in hospitality, have said goodbye to the roving pizza concept in favour of something a little more permanent. Aperitivo Cafe & Panini Bar is set bring a little taste of Matteo’s homeland with Italian pastries and coffee headlining the morning menu. Come midday, the cafe will fire up the panini press with a selection of six or seven loaded focaccia. The bread will be baked fresh in-house and topped with a mouth-watering array of flavours including schnitzel and parmigiana.
In true Italian style, the fare will be unpretentious but full of flavour with selections to eat-in or takeaway to enjoy by the water’s edge. Aperitivo Cafe & Panini Bar will also offer a selection of take-home heat-and-eat meals such as grazing boxes, traditional lasagne, arancini and vanuum-sealed pizza. As a mum to two small children, Liana wanted to make life a little easier for fellow parents whilst sharing some of the dishes that grace their own table at home.
As always, we’ll have all of the delicious details for you when they open so watch this space!
