CANCELLED – Waax at Kingscliff Beach Hotel

Brisbane quintet Waax have been making lots of compelling noise of late. Signing with Australian indie heavyweight Dew Process and featuring heavily on the nation’s airwaves they’ve been winning hearts and selling out national tours in the process. Supporting the likes of big time internationals Wolf Alice, Fall Out Boy and Biffy Clyro, the band have also been making sizeable waves on the festival circuit back before mass gatherings were cancelled with standout sets at Splendour In The Grass, Falls Festival, Good Things and Unify Gathering, not to mention a growing collection of local music awards and it’s clear to see the band’s trajectory is on a stratospheric rise. Here’s your chance to catch Waax in all of their glory when they take the stage at Kingscliff Beach Hotel on October 31.

The band’s debut album Big Grief touches on themes of anxiety, mania, cutting ties with old friends and habits and body image, to name a few. It’s definitely an outpouring of grief in every sense of the word, which given current world events, feels pretty fitting. Despite the darker themes, Waax’s melodies and vocals are colourful and lively.

In this new world order, the gig will be strictly limited capacity so if you’re keen to head along, you may want to jump over here post haste to nab a ticket. Waax will be joined by Eat Your Heart Out.
