Truffle Month at The Star

Truffle Month at The Star

Oh truffles, you rich, glorious little morsels of happiness, how we love thee. During July, The Star Gold Coast is paying homage to the not-so-humble truffle with an entire month-long celebration across its renowned restaurants including Cucina Vivo, Kiyomi, Garden Kitchen & Bar and Nineteen at The Star.

Traditional Italian favourite Cucina Vivo will offer a rotating menu, which will feature decadent delights such as mascarpone and truffle tortellini, a fennel sausage and roasted potato pizza topped with shaved truffle and a tipple of infused pear vodka, fresh lemon juice and house-made truffle honey. Meanwhile, next door at Kiyomi, discover the intoxicating aromas and exquisite flavours of wagyu tataki with fresh Australian black truffle and oysters with tosazu and, you guessed it, truffle. For a truly memorable dining experience, pair it with a glass (or bottle) of Krug Grande Cuvee, which is a blend of over 120 wines coming from ten or more different vintages – some up to fifteen years in age. Krug Grande Cuvee is consistently rated one of the world’s best champagnes. Fancy.

Garden Kitchen & Bar’s special dishes will be on a one-week rotation across the month, with the Oakey Angus Reserve Beef Tartare served with shavings of Tasmanian truffle, Roma tomato relish and peppered grissini sure to be highlight. Nineteen at The Star is sure to excite foodies with their dish of truffle risotto made with aged risotto rice (carnaroli) and served with shaved black truffle and chive oil. Guests will be able to indulge in the heavenly taste of these rare delights for as long as they remain in season, but be warned, truffle season can be over as quickly as it begins so you may want to put some haste into it!
