The Arts Centre Gold Coast and Benjamin Allmon present The Saltwater Story – A Voyage of Discovery.

The Saltwater Story is an author’s journey of culture that exists on the Gold Coast between land, people and water. The Saltwater Story is a narrative of local writer Benjamin Allmon; Ben embarks on a journey into a cultural layer and perspective of this landscape that has rarely been experienced by the general community.

The journey follows an ancient maritime trade route that has been utilised for generations; this 70 km sea voyage has connected Jagun People across the saltwater for thousands of years. Vessels hold knowledge that carries us into story and experience; it is what facilitates our connection between land, people, and water. The Gundal (canoe) connects us – it connects the makers with the land and the paddlers with the sea; the author, The Saltwater Story, the people of the Jagun, and you.
