Iconic Australian blues and rock band The Black Sorrows will perform a free live concert at The Flavours of Metro Street Party, a multi-sensory cultural showcase returning to Gold Coast Chinatown on Saturday October 7.

Presented by Australia Fair Metro, Flavours of Metro Street Party returns with the city’s most colourful celebration of diversity, featuring an international smorgasbord of tempting food and beverage offerings, along with non-stop live entertainment and fun for all the family.

This year, the street party is hosted in conjunction with the Chinatown Street Markets, promising an even greater array of delicious cuisine available from popular Australia Fair Metro restaurants as well as street food market vendors spread throughout Gold Coast Chinatown located on Young and Davenport Streets.

A fun evening out for all ages, Flavours of Metro Street Party boasts a festival atmosphere with a spectacular program of roving street entertainment and fun for the kids including a jumping castle, face painting, arts and craft activities, and motorised animal rides.

From 7:30–9:00 pm, The Black Sorrows perform on the main street stage, delighting revellers young and old with their classic blend of rhythm, blues, rock and soul.

Fronted by industry legend Joe Camilleri, The Black Sorrows are one of Australia’s most enduring and successful touring bands, producing hits through the years that live on in the national consciousness including Hold on to Me, Chained to the Wheel, Harley and Rose and Snakeskin Shoes.

The event, now in its second year, will showcase Australia Fair Metro’s impressive food offering, with eateries including the Burrito Bar, The Grill House, SoPo Dining Room, Kubo’s Bar and Grill, Tian Shan and more serving mouth-watering cuisine all evening.

Delicious street food from China, Japan, Indonesia, India, Vietnam, Philippines and Korea will also be available from more than 20 vendors spread throughout the festival precinct.
