Super Souvenir
Super Souvenir is a hybrid space – a portable contemporary gallery and micro museum on wheels, residing in a repurposed 1978 Viscount Royale Caravan.
As a specially commissioned project for Edge – 2018 National Architecture Conference, Super Souvenir will present a special display on how Gold Coast architecture has been presented on souvenirs and show how the stylish built form became so much a part of Gold Coast allure.
Alongside the tea-towels and trays are new works by six contemporary artists whose responses to the architectural form of the city seek to provoke thinking on a new generation of souvenirs and interrogate the need for the design of future memories. This event is part of the Australian Institute of Architects 2018 National Conference.
Curated by Byron Coathup and Virginia Rigney.
Free entry. Victoria Park Broadbeach. Open to the public daily from 12:00 pm, June 7 – 9.
