Sunset Junkies is coming to the Advancetown Hotel on Sunday November 17 for an afternoon of live tunes! Sunset Junkie’s debut album, Cosmos, did not just appear out of the blue. The band had a long foreground for such a beginning. Frontman and creative force Byron Short already had a handful of original releases under his belt by the time he decided he needed to form a backing band to bring the scope of his music to fruition in a live setting. So, Byron Short and The Sunset Junkies started out, journeying from pop-rock through to Americana and past the blues before eventually edging closer to a heavier and more progressive sound.

With the change in musical direction came a remodelling of sorts. Byron felt that the current lineup of musicians was so vital to the creative process that he decided to relinquish his top billing and become a part of Sunset Junkies. While Byron still steers the ship as singer, guitarist and songwriter, Sunset Junkies is truly a team, with each member bringing a uniquely distinctive element to the recording process and the live performance realm.

The floodgates are now open and with a solid lineup and a clear direction (but no rules), Sunset Junkies is only at the beginning of what promises to be a rich period of creativity and invention.
