Sunday Sounds Sanctuary Cove

Sunday Sounds Sanctuary Cove

Sanctuary Cove will host a jubilant celebration of classic tunes as Sunday Sounds returns on June 25, boasting an expanded program of free live music, fantastic entertainment and retro-themed fun for the whole family.

Bring along picnic rugs and blankets to enjoy a lively afternoon on the lush expanses of The Docks, as the ever-popular event steps back in time to present an all-new format, headlined by acclaimed ten-piece big band act, Swing Central. Touted as Australia’s most sophisticated swing band, Swing Central is fronted by the super suave Brad Leaver, whose velvet crooning has been melting hearts all over the world for 15 years.

Opening Sunday Sounds’ exciting first winter instalment, Miss Mandy Swings will bring her own blend of jazz and cabaret – or “jazzaret”, as the sassy entertainer calls it – to the audience, with a cooking band and some hot latin tunes to spice up the afternoon in the spirit of 1940s swing era. Versatile entertainers Rhydian and the Residuals will split the afternoon’s impressive musical offering, serving up favourites from a diverse repertoire featuring tunes by Michael Buble, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Elvis, Neil Diamond, and more.

Visitors young and old will delight as roving entertainers weave through the open-air theatre, enthralling spectators with their best impersonations of famed characters of yesteryear, such as Elvis, Marilyn Monroe, Charlie Chaplin and others.
