Jess Hill is an investigative journalist who has been commenting on domestic violence since 2014. She has been a producer for ABC Radio, a Middle East correspondent for The Global Mail, and an investigative journalist for Background Briefing. In addition, Jess has been listed in Foreign Policy’s top 100 women to follow on Twitter, and her reporting on domestic violence has won two Walkley awards, an Amnesty International award and three Our Watch awards. It will challenge your perceptions about domestic and family violence. The book was also announced the winner of the $50,000 prize for Australian women’s writing. It’s a book that Louise Swinn, chair of the judging panel, called an “incredibly powerful” work that “meticulously dismantle[s] all of the lazy old lies we associate with domestic abuse”
