SeaFire at Surfers Paradise

SeaFire at Surfers Paradise

Two of the world’s leading fireworks designers who were responsible for the London Olympics and the Beijing Olympics ceremonies respectively, will go head-to-head with awe-inspiring aerial shows of exploding colour, light and sound off Surfers Paradise beach for SeaFire.

Up to 60,000 people are expected to witness the two competing international teams each fire off 10-minute displays, creating a stunning, multicultural celebration of the universal appeal of fireworks. One of Australia’s leading pyro companies, Skylighter FireworX, will conclude the aerial spectacular. Heart-thumping entertainment including jet-ski freestyle stunt teams will wow crowds during intermission.

The free, family-friendly event will open with a special tribute show to the Australian Navy, where a live band will play the Australian National Anthem as a Seahawk chopper whirrs above the iconic shores of Surfers Paradise beach.
Before the show, displays from the Australian Navy will be plotted up and down the foreshore from 2:00–4:00 pm, while the esteemed Royal Australian Navy Band Queensland entertains visitors.

To avoid the crowds, catch the G:Link into Surfers Paradise in the early afternoon, wander along the foreshore to check out the displays, and then grab a bite to eat at one of the many cafés and restaurants in the precinct before the main event commences at 7:00 pm.
