Random Weave Workshop at The Craft Parlour

Random Weave Workshop at The Craft Parlour

Weave away a lazy day exploring and working with foraged plant fibres at The Craft Parlour’s Random Weave Workshop. This relaxing, nourishing and meditative class is taught by Byron Bay artist Zimmi Forest, using fibres foraged on the north coast. The Craft Parlour is all for sustainability and if there is anyone that has the magic touch of turning nature into art, it’s Zimmi.

With over 22 years of experience making, exhibiting and teaching random weave, basketry and fibre art, Zimmi has a wealth of knowledge on natural and foraged fibre. Zimmi came to art through a passion for sustainability and the environment. In this workshop, attendees will learn the simple techniques to transform natural fibres into a beautiful utilitarian basket or sculptural object made from Bangalow inflorescence.
