It’s official! Queensland Ballet’s home-away-from-home on the Gold Coast is officially HOTA. A first feature of this unique creative pairing is two exclusive performances from Queensland’s premier ballet company.

Sleeping Beauty
First up in February, the classic (and box-office-breaking) fairytale of Sleeping Beauty will hit the coast. Queensland Ballet’s most successful ballet of all time will feature Marius Petipa’s renowned original 1890s choreography accompanied by the exquisite Tchaikovsky score. Greg Horsman’s two-act retelling will sweep you away to a land of enchanted forests, kings and queens, and charismatic creatures that creep, crawl, flit and flutter.

Moonlight Ballet
In November, you can catch an al fresco event featuring ballet under the stars in the aptly named Moonlight Ballet, which is inspired by the swinging 60s and promises to be a event full of colour and infectious energy. Crowds are also treated to an open rehearsal while good trucks and the licensed Lawn Bar keep event-goers well fed and watered for the unique offering.
