Neil Murray & Friends

Neil Murray & Friends

A community concert event not to be missed! Following the official opening event for the exhibition East Coast Encounter, Australian singer-songwriter Neil Murray will perform alongside some of our local emerging musicians in a showcase concert.

Neil Murray, the man behind “My Island Home”, “Blackfella Whitefella” and “Good Light in Broome” is one of Australia’s finest singer songwriters. A founding member of the pioneering Indigenous group the Warumpi Band, he has released several solo albums, received the 1995 APRA song of the year award, published stories, articles, poems, a play and the cult classic auto biographical novel Sing for me Countryman. His songs have been recorded by Mary Black, Jimmy Little, Missy Higgins, Powderfinger and Christine Anu. His latest album is ‘Bring Thunder and Rain’ and he is currently touring Australia. We are thrilled to have Neil performing here on the Gold Coast and mentoring our local musicians.

More information about Neil Murray is available at www.neilmurray.com.au.
