Melbourne Cup at Garden Kitchen & Bar

Melbourne Cup at Garden Kitchen & Bar

Fun, food and fabulous fashion will be the order of the day at Garden Kitchen & Bar for its sensational Melbourne Cup soiree. The lauded luncheon is your chance to gather your fillies and stallions to enjoy a tantalising three-course meal and accompanying three-hour drinks package or, for something a little more chill, opt for an Insta-worthy picnic on the lawn. As always, there will be a hotly contested Fashions off the Field competition, prizes aplenty and live entertainment to keep the good times rolling well into the afternoon.

The Restaurant
Settle in for a sumptuous long lunch starting with a taste of Tasmanian salmon followed by an alternate drop of Spencer Gulf hiramasa kingfish and Black Tyde striploin cooked to perfection. Bringing your feast to a sweet conclusion is a dark-chocolate tart with raspberry compote, chocolate soil and vanilla-bean ice-cream. While away the afternoon with drops of Domaine Chandon sparkling, 821 sauvignon blanc, Corte Giara pinot grigio, Woodbrook chardonnay, Beautiful Somewhere shiraz, Kooyong Massale pinot noir, which are all included in the drinks package. If beer is more your vibe, the bar will be slinging  XXXX Gold and James Squire 150 Lashes pale ale. The fun kicks off at 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm and tickets are $169.00 per person.

The Lawn
If you’re really keen to hedge your bets for an excellent Melbourne Cup day and enjoy sipping in the sunshine, opt for a picnic table package on the lawn. Each table can seat eight to ten guests and includes two delicious platters of food to share and a stunning three-hour drinks package. The platter menu features a selection of belly-filling snacks including chargrilled Angus beef sliders, house-smoked salmon skewers, beer-battered Australian flathead tacos, harissa marinated chicken skewers and crispy chips with aoli. After the race, don’t miss a star-studded line-up featuring 15 Grams, Brooke Evers, The Stafford Brothers and more! All live and free on the lawn.

Picnic tables are $1500.

To book, skip over here but be warned, if you snooze you lose because if past years are anything to go by this one will sell out!
